Bizarrement, je m'attendais à beaucoup, parce qu'après tout c'est la mini-série intelligente de Luc Dionne et de Pierre Houle qui a conquit le Québec, durant le milieu des années 90. Actuellement, c'est le film complet de Luc Dionne, où il scénarise et réalise son projet en repoussant toute collaboration extérieure, depuis qu'il a fait le saut de la télévision au cinéma. La mini-série Omertà : La loi du silence, tournée en 1996, a propulsé Dionne au sommet de la gloire, faisant découvrir à tout le Québec, la présence d'un Len Deighton québécois, du jour au lendemain. Dionne me fit penser à Deighton principalement pour la psychologie des personnages, malgré que Deighton consacra son œuvre au roman d'espionnage, tout comme Ian Fleming. Lorsque la mini-série arriva à sa conclusion, Dionne se concentra au grand écran, en produisant le remake Aurore, du film minable, mais culte de Jean-Yves Bigras, La petite Aurore :L'enfant martyre. I actually viewed this, on a strike day at the college where I was. Yeah, you know I’m still an eternal student of everything, especially for computers and the web, and computers, and what not. Every class lecture was suspended, until due notice. Otherwise, I could have decided to go into the building, and finish some dire school work, that I really need to put on the rails. Sometimes, I pressure myself to do it, because I just feel the need to get things done, and to get anything done, any wich way I can. In the best of possible worlds, what I surely needed was a comedy when I was stuck back home doing pretty much close to nothing, being the fact that I got an email saying that the school was closed. Well that’s certainly it, the entire world of students is infuriated to kingdom come. Everyone feels that they’re in dire straits, and the bad times are only getting worse.
